Aspiron™ Natural Koji Chromium

Importance of chromium in the human diet

Chromium is an essential mineral that is thought to affect lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. It is required in trace amounts and is known to enhance the hormone insulin. The latter is a critical hormone involved in glucose and fat metabolism and protein synthesis.

Supplementation with chromium has been associated with decreases in body fat, improved glucose metabolism and increases in lean body mass in diabetic people.

A recent study found that over one-quarter of the US population consumes supplemental chromium and that these individuals had lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes. More evidence is needed to confirm the above benefits in healthy humans.
